Upon completing the sketches, the decision to pick four from the collection was made. This was based on the fact that four of the met the intended purpose for which I initially embarked on the project. Picking one from the chosen collection, I proceeded to paint on acetate. Also, in order to place emphasis on the idea of alienation being a culmination of a multi- plicity of circumstances and emotional states, the idea to paint on more than one layer, piecing these layers together to create a general whole then came to mind.
This then gave the piece an over- all stylised aesthetic as well as added to the dynamic of the overall context/theme of the project. The use of collage also came to play, as the eyes were photographed and then placed on the top layer adding to the idea of multiplicity being a common feature.
